The Safe Beauty Project
creating a more transparent future for cosmetics
2022 — 2023

Though many ingredients used in beauty products are safe, many of them pose serious potential problems to our health.

As a health-conscious consumer, how does one learn to navigate the ‘dirty list’ of skincare ingredients? How might user-centered digital design empower beauty consumers to make more informed decisions about their products?

the ugly truth about beauty
2021

Beauty consumerism is one of the largest contributors to today's global waste problem. Many ingredients are harmful to animals, marine life and humans. More than 120 billion units of packaging are produced and discarded each year by the cosmetics industry alone, which deforests 18 million acres of forest annually. 877 pounds of waste is created every single minute by salons alone.

Dobaú
the best of Brazil in Portland, OR
2023

Baú is a Portuguese word for trunk. In Brazil, there is a tradition that the best memories, the best projects, collections, things that you want to keep forever and for the next generations are kept in the Baú. I worked with owner Mayra Lima to create a brand identity and print assets for her pop up business.
